Sporting cum laude honors, Dr. Michael Civin graduated from Harvard College in 1968, earning his A.B. degree at the time. He then continued on to medical school, moving closer to his future endeavors. For one year, Civin attended the Albert Einstein College of Medicine before moving on to the University of Oregon. It was there that he gained his Master of Arts degree in 1970.

More than a decade later, in 1986, Michael Civin earned a second M.A. degree from the Gordon F. Demer Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies. During this second M.A., he focused on clinical psychology, which he did again in attaining his Ph.D. in 1988 from the same institution. This vast education laid a significant foundation for Civin as he moved into postdoctoral studies and his lifelong career in psychology.

Dr. Michael Civin’s career has at its base a lot of education including an A.B. Degree from Harvard, attendance at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and two Master of Arts degrees. The first came from the University of Oregon in 1970, while the second, in clinical psychology, came from the Gordon F. Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies at Adelphi University in 1986, where he also earned a Ph.D. in 1988.

In his private practice in several locations all over New York City and at Rose Hill Psychological Services, a practice he helped to found in 2007, Dr. Michael Civin, Ph.D. Does what he has always done throughout his nearly three-decade career. He continues to accept and treat new and long-time patients to the best of his ability. In fact, he helped found Rose Hill to offer affordable high-quality psychological services to underserved populations because he felt, and still feels, that everyone should have access to the best available mental health care. As a clinical psychology specialist in New York City, Dr. Michael Civin has been a veritable fixture in the psychological services industry in New York City for virtually his entire career, which has now stretched to more than a quarter century.

Since beginning his career in medicine, Dr. Michael Civin has been committed to providing the utmost psychological care to his patients. Civin attended Harvard College, graduating in 1968 with his A.B. degree and cum laude honors from the prestigious Boston school. He continued at the University of Oregon and obtained his Masters of Arts in 1980, then another M.A. in 1986 from Adelphi University, but this time from the clinical psychology program with his passion for medicine growing. Now, with approximately three decades of work in the field, practicing since he received his PhD in 1988 from the Gordon F. Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies at Adelphia University, Civin has extended help to those around him since that time. He’s worked in private practice, primarily in the New York area, and in academia, sharing his knowledge with others who are up-and-coming in psychology.

In 2008, Dr. Michael Civin helped co-found Rose Hill Psychological Services, a New York City-based firm to help others. He serves as a senior psychologist there in addition to running his own private practices from Astoria, Manhattan and Bayville. Civin specializes in psychodiagnostics, adolescent, adult, group and supervision psychology, assisting others in various ways.
